Terms of Service
Last updated · 30 April 2026
These terms govern your use of ChurchBell. By subscribing a parish, signing in to the admin console, or using the member app, you agree to the terms set out below.
1. The service
ChurchBell is a church management platform that helps parishes maintain member records, accounts, receipts, communications and related parish life. The service is offered through churchbell.in, the ChurchBell admin console, and the ChurchBell mobile applications.
2. Eligibility and accounts
ChurchBell is intended for use by parish administrators, treasurers, committee members and parish members. By creating an account, you confirm that:
- You are authorised by your parish to act on its behalf, where applicable.
- The information you provide is accurate and kept up to date.
- You will keep your credentials confidential and notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.
3. Subscriptions and fees
Parish use of ChurchBell is offered on a subscription basis. Plans, included features and applicable fees are agreed with the parish at the time of onboarding. Fees are payable in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated by us in writing.
We may revise pricing for future subscription periods with reasonable prior notice to the parish. Continued use after a revised plan takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
4. Roles within a parish
Parishes are responsible for assigning roles, granting access only to authorised individuals, and revoking access when an individual no longer holds that role. ChurchBell relies on the parish's assignment of administrative responsibility and is not responsible for internal disputes regarding access or authority.
5. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not:
- Use ChurchBell for any unlawful purpose, or in a manner that breaches a third party's rights.
- Upload content that is defamatory, harassing, obscene, or that infringes copyright or privacy.
- Attempt to access systems or data that you have not been granted access to.
- Interfere with the integrity of the service through reverse engineering, automated scraping, denial-of-service activity, or probing for vulnerabilities outside an authorised disclosure process.
- Use ChurchBell to send communications that are not directly related to the spiritual, pastoral or administrative life of the parish.
6. Parish data
All church and member records entered into ChurchBell remain the property of the parish that maintains them. ChurchBell holds and processes that information solely to provide the service, on the instructions of the parish, and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Parishes may request a structured export of their data at any time during an active subscription, and for a reasonable period after cancellation.
7. WhatsApp, SMS and email delivery
ChurchBell sends receipts, notifications and reports through WhatsApp, SMS and email on the parish's behalf. Delivery depends on third-party networks (including the WhatsApp Business Platform) and recipient device availability. While we make reasonable efforts to ensure timely delivery, we do not guarantee that every message will be received.
8. Intellectual property
The ChurchBell name, logo, software, design, documentation and other materials are owned by ChurchBell or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant the parish a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service during the subscription term, in line with these terms. Nothing here transfers ownership of the underlying software to any user.
9. Availability and support
We aim to keep ChurchBell available continuously and to respond to support requests promptly. From time to time, we may schedule maintenance windows, release updates, or temporarily limit features to protect the integrity of the service. Where reasonable, we will give advance notice.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access if a parish or user materially breaches these terms, fails to pay applicable fees, or uses the service in a manner that risks harm to other users, our infrastructure, or the safety of personal information. Where possible, we will give notice and an opportunity to remedy the breach.
A parish may cancel its subscription at any time by writing to support@churchbell.in. Upon cancellation, we will provide a final export window before records are removed in accordance with our retention practices.
11. Disclaimers
ChurchBell is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. While we work hard to keep records accurate and the service reliable, we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChurchBell and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages, or for loss of revenue, goodwill or anticipated savings. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service shall not exceed the subscription fees paid by the parish in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
13. Indemnity
The parish agrees to indemnify ChurchBell against claims arising out of (a) misuse of the service by the parish or its authorised users, (b) content uploaded by the parish that breaches these terms or third-party rights, or (c) the parish's breach of applicable law.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The parties will first attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute through discussion. Where that is not possible, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka shall have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to our right to seek interim relief in any competent forum.
15. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms as the service evolves or as the law requires. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email to parish administrators. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
16. Contact
